Cary Miller (now McAllister) is a petite red bombshell of energy and fun. “You may have seen Cary starring in Peter Pan as Peter Pan or Aaron conducting an orchestra in New York where they currently live so I’m going to go ahead an claim celebrity wedding photographer status! =) “- From the couple’s Wedding Photographer, Heather Brulez.

In addition to altering her Nolte’s gown, I added a custom dyed tulle underskirt, lending a fun surprise pop of color and yet another quirky detail to her stylish wedding. I can’t resist sharing sampling of my favorite images below… Not pictured is the flowergirl in her matching gown with purple tulle also!

Real Wedding Inspiration: Red, Black & Ruffle Mermaid Gown

Tiffany’s gown was custom made to flatter, using the ruffles from her friend’s 80′s prom dress! We found perfectly matching swiss dot tulle to overlay over textured taffeta to work in the textured lace of the skirt. I love the contrast of the red, black and ivory in her wedding! She is also wearing red heels and a red and black custom feather fascinator with black birdcage netting… a twist on a classic look!

Decades We Love: 1920′s

SO many brides say generic things like they want their gown to look “vintage.”

There are so many inspirations in specific decades, you very well could come out looking all 1870′s with a high collar, “mutton sleeves” and a giant caboose bustle (tis vintage, yes?). Brooke + Mike Tuley, a Farm Wedding

Brooke and Mike Tuley’s rustic farm wedding in Kansas was so sweet!

Her gown was handmade from an heirloom vintage gown, which has been completely redone to add the sash, bubble hem, straps, and new neck and back lines. She’s also wearing a handmade lace hair flower, the perfect whimsical accent.

Custom Bridal Flapper Hat

This custom hat was created to mimic the sleek hats of the 1920′s for a bride. It was created with swarovoski crystals, french birdcage veiling, and a buckram frame covered with white bridal satin. Fun!

Jessica’s Fun Striped Wedding Dress and Kimono Belt!

Jessica (Hylan) Warlick was such a beautiful and fun bride! She wore an original Janay A Handmade handmade striped velvour burnout dress (this fabric is is sheer in between the striped and was lined in a flesh colored soft jersey). Paying homage to her japanese heritage, a kimono inspired silk-chiffon belt, that is detailed with vintage lace appliques from her man’s grandmothers 1947 wedding gown. Sweet!

Birdcage/Fascinator hairpiece coordinates with the sash in fresh peach and wine colored japanese silk flowers, beaded with vintage pearls and crystal, with natural champagne feather accent.

New in Studio – Stacie’s Fabulous Wedding Gown

We so enjoyed designing and creating Stacie’s wedding dress. Her pop of vibrant orange visible at the waist is also hidden underneath with a peek-a-boo hand-dyed petticoat.

Beaded lace accents the collar, cap sleeves, and hem- as well as sweet rosettes for a layered textural effect.

Her co-ordinating hairpiece/fascinator completes her charming bridal look. We will update with her actual wedding photos after final fit and steaming!

Amber was one of the most fun brides I have ever worked with! Her style is so classic 1940′s, with a quirky twist. We custom desgined her wedding gown in collaboration, taking inspiration from the textured “fan” fabric I had used on a short dress for the Roaring 20′s Wedding Hive Fashion Show.
