The custom gown: how it works
1. Complimentary Consultation
Interview the designer and brainstorm design, theme, and fabrics. It is helpful to bring pictures of details and styles that you like, plus photos of yourself that represent your favorite looks. This step is important to communicate your unique style to be represented in your dress. It’s all about you!
Long distance? Not a problem. Even custom gowns can be created with emailed sketches and measurements and mailed fabric swatches. And for the complete custom experience, you are invited to visit the Kansas City Showroom or bring Janay A to you!
2. Finalize Design
After your consultation with Janay A, a working sketch of your dream dress will be developed. Co-Create this perfect design hand-in-hand with the designer. A quote will be given and work will begin after ½ of fees are paid to cover initial materials. Measurements will be taken.
*Note: Don’t worry if you are planning to lose weight or are pregnant! Women fluctuate naturally, and it’s best to begin the process and adjust for size when the pattern is together and in your actual garment! Since the garment is 100% made for you, allowances for shape change are included in the price and the gown will be altered to fit you perfectly!
3. Your Dress is Made!
Your authentic gown pattern will be refined using expert couture techniques and cut in your fabric choice. Final fittings and any additional alterations will be completed.
